Story Illustration - Initial sketch

Here is the initial sketch for an illustration that I am currently working on. I need to work on the shading and the horse's eye some more. It needs to look like a wild ride, but right now that eye looks a little too big/protruding. The final will be done in prismacolor on bristol board which I hope to have completed and ready to post this weekend.

Thanks so much! I take your comments to heart since you are all artists that I admire. Still working on the final, and am hoping to really be able to keep with the nervous energy of the boy in his face and stature.
