Critique Time!

My schedule remains rather busy, so instead of missing another day on my blog, I thought to post one of my older illustrations and open the door for a good ole fashion critique.

All I will say is that this piece was done in watercolor and prisma pencil... the rest I leave to all of you. Feel free to send along any commentary on the piece... good or bad, random thoughts, general feelings, etc. I look forward to reading what you all have to say. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I love how Diana picked up on the nose... that is something I went back and forth with myself.

perfect painting for this ultra hot day...thank you !!

and as for critique...I am in awe whenever someone works predominantly in white. Personally, I think it is one of the hardest things to do and that is probably why you'll never see me tackle it. That said, you have done a splendid job here and as I said, I am in awe.

Hi Lisa, I think is wonderful!

Beautiful illustration. The blues are so gorgeous and the matching scarfs work so well too. Love your rendering of the snow and the sky!

If I had to change something it would be a small detail and that is with the standing bear's arm. To me it looks a bit "Human" Or "manly" if I can say that. Just the upper part with the shoulder. Maybe if you change that curvature on make the line "furry" like, kind of like you have on other parts of the bear it would work.

Not an important thing really. I think is a beautiful piece! :o)

You know, I never quite noticed that before but his arm does look at bit manly... I think its the forarm, kinda like "Popeye the Polar Bear".
Thank you for that suggestion, I will certainly keep that in mind for future illos.

Luv the bears. My air isn't working in my studio so that illustration makes me long for cooler weather!
